Technology by Felix Canseco Technology club is a really fun club with the teacher being Mr.Mcgrath. He plays music on his guitar and the stereo to make everyone feel relaxed while they handle dangerous machinery! The club is basically 7th grade technology except there are no limits to what you can make. If you want to make a statue made of wood, go for it if, you want to make a car you can do that. Anything you can come up with, you can make. Mr.Mcgrath will play music while you make your creations. It is a really fun club for you and your friends and I think you will enjoy it. At the end you get a lollipop. It is the most frequent club with four meetings a month.
Critter Club by Samantha Kouba
Critter Club is an amazing, fun, and interactive club. If you love animals, then it's the club for you! In Critter Club you get to learn about animals and different shelters come in and show you some of their animals. Some shelters bring in dogs and others bring in cats. Sometimes they will even bring in reptiles! At the end of the year you can go on a field trip to the aquarium for the day. The club is directed by Ms. Esp and is held in the cafeteria or the little theater. The club meets up at least one time a month.
Boys Soccer by Peyton Rohan
Boys Soccer By Peyton Rohan The soccer team enjoyed the season immensely and for great reason. The team went undefeated without even letting up 10 goals in the whole season. Everyone on the team had a blast playing with each other on their way to victory. Coach Torquato was an amazing coach, and with every win still pushed us to improve on ourselves to be the best of our ability. And I believe, as others do as well, I get a feeling to do better each play and never give up. The privilege to be on this team was a great learning experience. At tryouts I could already see that the team was going to be good, but I never thought it would be as good as we had gotten. I am so happy that I could be a part of this year’s team. I can't wait to see next year's team.
6th Grade Ice Cream Social by Zach Wellman
6th Grade Ice Cream Social by Zachary Wellman The 6th grade ice cream social this year was a lot of fun for everyone who was there. I personally enjoyed it. The DJ played lots of good music and the ice cream was amazing. I wanted seconds! I wish I had brought money. If you are going to it next year, here are some tips:
Bring money. I’d say 5-10 bucks.
Bring a towel (if you want to sit down)
Prepare for crowded lines. Believe me. It was INSANE.
Be ready in case it rains. They may either move it inside or cancel it altogether.
Know your late bus. The stops aren’t the same as the normal buses.
All in all, I had a great time at the ice cream social and I think you will too! (tickets are 5 bucks)
Field Hockey by Naomi Kinloch
Field hockey is a really great sport to play. It teaches you the value of being a leader and working with a team. The team takes pride in each other, win or lose. Everyone is motivated to win and is willing to help each other out. A really nice perk is you can buy your own personal stick with any design they come with.
My Football Life by Ashton Mendiola
My Football Life by Ashton Mendiola
Football is a hard sport to try to play, but not for me. I have wanted to play football all my life ever since I saw my brother play. My brother's name is Azariah and when I saw him play, I had no idea what was happening but then he started to tell me all about how it felt like and what all the positions do. Then I tried what I was good at and it turns out, I was best at being a lineman. A lineman is a person who protects or goes for the quarterback or the running-back, but first you have to get past the lineman in front of you or just push him away. Football for me is going really well. My game progress is 3-1. I won three games and lost one. The team I lost to was William Floyd. They are a good team but have huge people there. There was a kid who was the size of an adult and was only twelve. I know right he was only twelve which was pretty weird he looked like a full grown man. My next games are against Ronkonkoma Middle School and Pat Med Middle School so hopefully my game progress goes to 5-1.turns out that my game score ended up being 4-2 which is an ok game score but it would’ve been nice to get a perfect season with 6-0 as a game score. Once we went against Pat Med we lost the game. We lost the game because of this kid number 88 i have no idea what his name is but all i know is that he is a really good football player. His position is a linebacker. Linebackers are the defensive quarterback and coaches on the fields, beginning every play by giving the defensive call. They set the standard for every defense by being able to get the ball before anyone else. They’re usually emotional leaders who excel in by leading example
Mrs. Pritchett by Zachary Wellman
Mrs. Pritchett by Zachary Wellman
You may know her as a rabid Bills fan due to all of the memorabilia in room 17, ( and yes, she is still a rabid Bills fan) but she is more than that. To find out more, I conducted an interview with the favorite teacher of many 6th graders. Mrs. Pritchett loves teaching, and seeing the growth of students. She has been teaching for 18 years and has also taught at Gatelot, Hiawatha, Nokomis, and Tamarac. She taught K-2 and 4-5 grades. She loves to travel and cheer for the Bills (her favorite game being a 2017-18 playoff game where the Bills lost to the Jaguars). She also likes to spend time with her nieces. She also revealed that she went to Sagamore as a kid. Her favorite teacher was her social studies teacher Mr. Nordland. Unbeknownst to most people, she loves horses, and takes frequent trips to Saratoga Springs, NY (Where my grandparents, coincidentally, live) to go watch the famous horse races. Fun fact: It’s the birthplace of the potato chip! I love having her as a teacher. Go Jets! (I hope she doesn’t see this)
Authors and Artists by Gina Narman
Authors and Artists is an amazing club! Many people join the club because they find the name intriguing. When you are in the club, you will notice how many people post their art on the Google Classroom and how many people share their stories they wrote. It is open for people to comment on, and without doubt it's always a positive comment. It's interesting how everyone communicates with one another, no matter if they are an artist or an author, you can relate to at least one thing a person said. The room is never silent there is ALWAYS a sound of someone talking.
Sagamore News by Andrew Barreto
The Sagamore News Club is a lot of fun. You get to write about news in this school and you get snacks. In the Sagamore News Club you get to write about anything, like for example sports, clubs, upcoming events, art, anime and sci fi, that’s the great thing about the Sagamore News Club. And there are contests on many things like Poster Contest, and the Write for Your Life Contest.
